MM: February 13

Happy Monday! Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow, too, before I forget!  Last week went by pretty quickly, which is good since I still really couldn’t run because of my sprained ankle.  I did run 1 little mile on Tuesday and it felt good, but then my ankle was pretty angry the next day.

We had awards on Thursday at work, like yearbook awards for coworkers. I won best decorated desk. =D

Mom and Dad came to town Friday night, and we were excited to get some donuts at John’s Space Age Donuts.  Mmmmm!  There was an article in the news lately that said John is wanting to sell his donut shop, which has been in business for over 40 years.  They said they aren’t selling anytime soon, when Mom asked on Saturday; he said “someday” not anytime soon.  So take a big sigh, it’s ok!

After donuts, we drove to Wyandotte Co. Lake to show Mom and Dad where our wedding venue is! It was such a gorgeous day, we walked around the hall, but couldn’t go in because there were people in there setting up for a wedding.  We drove around the entire lake before leaving.  I can’t wait to get married here!

After signing up for 2 area 10ks coming up this summer and fall at the running expo, we went for a run! It was 70 degrees, and felt almost hot!!  Dad biked along with us, and my ankle did great!

Jasper was keeping us entertained over the weekend by playing inside and outside.

Saturday night was Grinder’s night! Calzones all around the table.

Sunday morning, Chris and I signed up for another race! We are going to tackle our first marathon, together, this fall in Detroit!  We have all of our races planned for the year, check it my race schedule for this year.

After Mom and Dad left to go home, and Chris went to band practice, I went out to try my ankle for another couple miles, and it did great! It was cooler Sunday than Saturday, but the sun felt good, and there were still lots of people taking advantage of the weather!

MM: February 6

Last week started off great, I had good runs on both Monday and Tuesday.  The pic below is from my run Monday night.  Then Wednesday, Amy and I met up for a run, and the first 3.65 miles were great, feeling good, having a great talk while running, and then BOOM, I stepped wrong on a stupid walnut and sprained my ankle.  I twisted it and fell hard on my other knee, and DANG it hurt.  Amy actually ran and got her car and came back to pick me up.  I’ve not ran since Wednesday.  I saw my chiropractor on Thursday, and he confirmed it was sprained, but my tendons and ligaments felt in tact and ok.  He scraped it a bit and taped it, and now it’s black and blue and still puffy, but it is getting better. I may try to run on it later this week. Dang walnut!

Thursday night while Chris was at band practice, I went to happy hour with coworkers.  Definitely a fun group to work with.

I sent this text to Chris on Friday, he makes me laugh every day.

Friday night, Chris’ band had a show in the Blue Springs area, which was a lot of fun. Chris actually broke a string about halfway through the show, but kept playing like the rockstar he is.  They have another show in a couple weeks; should be lots of fun!

My boys.  Jasper loves him so much, he is always snuggling up to him.

Saturday  and Sunday, we got so much done! #adulting.  Sunday  morning we stopped and got some John’s Space Age Donuts, and ran a few errands before knocking out lots of chores at home.

I’m really excited for this weekend, Mom and Dad are coming to visit!  Have a great week!
