Hello Monday! I missed last week’s post! Chris and I were in Hays last weekend for Kristen’s baby shower, Mother’s Day, and a graduation party, and by the time we got home Sunday night, I didn’t have time to write a post. I have quite few pictures to share, so I’ll jump right in.
A week ago Thursday, Michelle and I had a fun evening together, and we ended up going for last minute margaritas, and Chris joined us after his band’s practice.
Last Friday, Chris and I drove to Hays after work – it felt great to go home! Saturday morning, Chris, Kristen, and I headed out for about 5 miles. We ran to the water tower and back. My knee was pretty upset (kind of the turning point and the real start of the really bad pain I’ve been in over the last couple weeks, now to the point where I can’t run, and can’t walk without limping). We ran home, dropped Chris off, and grabbed Mom for 2 more miles.
Snoballlllls!
Dad upgraded the fire pit while we were home, and we had a perfect evening watching the fire and listening to Chris play his guitar.
Sunday morning, on Mother’s Day, we celebrated sisser’s baby shower! It was a great morning, she and Thayne and Baby Griffin got lots of great gifts, books, and advice from lots of amazing moms and women. That’s already one very loved baby.
The rest of Sunday was spent with family, before heading back to KC in the afternoon. The next time we will all be together, there will be a little baby Griffin in the mix, and Chris and I will be getting married! AHH!
Over the past week, not too much went on. I made some stuffed peppers for the first time, and they were pretty dang tasty, if I do say so myself. Ground beef, brown rice, italian seasoning, garlic, onion, and tomato sauce mixed together and stuffed into red bell peppers, then baked for about 30 minutes, with parmesan cheese thrown on top at the end. Nom nom nom!
Thursday morning, i saw the orthopedic doctor about my knee. Ended up getting a cortisone shot in my hip that gave me about 12 hours of relief. I cycled Thursday evening, and now I can barely walk without a bad limp. As I wrote yesterday, I will run again – no giving up, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be running any time soon, unfortunately.
Saturday, Chris and I went to St. Joseph for his band’s practice. I tried to run, and ended up walking while they practiced. After we got home and ran a few errands, Chris and Jazzy took a little nap together. So sweet, those two.
Sunday was engagement pictures day! We did some much needed cleaning in the morning, and then I got my makeup done (thanks Sephora!) and we had a lot of fun taking pictures in the park! I can’t wait to get them back in a couple weeks.
Have a great week! My birthday is Thursday, if anyone wants to get me a new knee! 😉
