Monday Mentionings: June 6

Good morning friends! I have a short little Monday update for you today!

Last Monday I was in Hays! I had a great long weekend home for Memorial Day.  Mom and I had a humid 4 miler on Monday, we ran along the bypass and enjoyed the scenery.

Lucy, Mom and Dad’s cat, decided to lay on me for a bit before I went home.

Saturday morning, bright and early, I ran the Hospital Hill Half Marathon.  I hope to have a recap up for you tomorrow.  I will say that it was vey hard, and very humid, and very hilly, and very hard.

I’ve now done 10 half marathons.  This one may have been the very toughest.

Sunday morning, Amy and I ran a few shakeout miles.  Little did we know, that we dressed very similar.  Of course we did.  Same visor, black tank, running skirt.  Check, check, check.

I have a very exciting weekend coming up, I’ll be visiting Kristen and Thayne in Milwaukee! I hope to also share my experience from Hospital Hill, tomorrow! Have a great week!

Thursday Thoughts: June 4

Last weekend I bought a new car! I’m the proud new owner of a pretty 2014 Mazda 6!  I’ve had it less than a week, and boy, she drives like a dream! Zoom zoom!

Earlier this week, I posted some of my thoughts on my recent divorce.  I got a couple super sweet card in the mail from my Mom and from a friend.  I love getting mail that isn’t bills or junk.  Thanks everyone for your kind comments, too, on Facebook and twitter.  It means a lot to have such a loving group of family and friends through this difficult time.

Jasper has turned into a huge snuggle bug in the evenings.  The other night, I was about to get up and go to bed, and he snuggled up on me and started purring so loudly.  I just couldn’t make myself disturb him.

Tuesday was Track Tuesday for a timed mile.  I PR’d my mile by about 15 seconds, which I was happy with, considering I don’t like running full out!!  I’m so grateful for the KCRC Groupies and their support.

Yesterday was National Running Day! It’s like Christmas for runners! I met up with the Groupies for  special National Running Day group run, and there were over 250 of us out at the Leawood store for running, pizza, prizes, and fun! I can’t put into words how much I love this group and the friends I have made.

Along with National Running Day, I signed up for the KC Marathon Half Marathon this fall.  I ran this same race last fall, and it was a great race, I can’t wait to run it again!  I also got to pick up the 361 degrees shoes I won at Ladies Night a few weeks ago.  I’ll test them out after Hospital Hill this weekend, and write a review!

Tonight, if the rain holds out, I’ll go to the Royals game with Amy and her family, and then this weekend is Hospital Hill, and a couple more Royals games with my parents! I’m really excited for a fun and busy weekend.  My fingers are crossed for no rain during the race or the games over the weekend! GO ROYALS and good luck Hospital Hill runners!!
