I have some August Goals to share with you to help motivate myself to hit it hard this month!
Goal 1 for August: Run 100+ miles. As I’ve shared before, I’m working towards 950+ miles for the year. In June I ran 82.5 miles in and July I ran 87 miles. My highest mileage month this year was March. I really want to hit triple digits again (I ran 102 miles in February 2014 and 119 miles in March 2014). I have confidence I can hit 100 miles by building up my long runs and staying consistent with my weekday runs.
Goal 2 for August: Drink at least 120 ounces of water per day. I consistently drink about 100-120 ounces of water per day now, but want to keep hydrated, especially if I’m running more, and especially if it continues to stay hot and humid outside! I always feel better when my body is getting enough water, so I want to make sure I’m drinking!
Goal 3 for August: Foam roll at least 5 times per week. I’m still seeing the chiropractor about every 2 weeks for my hamstring/glute/hip issues, and want to make sure I’m doing all I can to help my healing along. I’m adding some at home strength training (sorely needed!) to my workouts, and need to foam roll to help those muscles stay loose and to work on my problem areas (hip/glute/hamstring, IT band, etc).
