2014 Blog Stats

For as much as I despise math, I am kind of a numbers nerd… read below to see my little blog’s first 10 months’ stats.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 7,000 times in 2014. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.

The busiest day of the year was November 25th with 291 views. The most popular post that day was Renee.

In 2014, there were 56 new posts, not bad for the first year!

Thanks for reading, I can’t wait to see what 2015 will hold for MY BRAVE WINGS!

Christmas in Pictures

Christmas has come and gone! This time of year always goes so fast.  I spent 2 weeks at home, spending some time with grandpa, then going to the funeral, then Christmas. I was able to spend some great quality time with family and friends, and it was a rally great visit, even though parts were sad.  To get through all these pictures, I’ll do 1 sentence per picture!

Jasper made himself quite at home during the 10 days he was in Hays.

I’m happy to be home after a whirlwind 2 weeks in Hays, but I do miss having Mom and Dad right there.  I had an amazing time back home, and I’m so thankful I was able to spend so much time with family.  That being said, I am very ready to get back to a normal routine!

With New Years right around the corner, I will be re-reading my 2015 Running Goals post a few times to get in the right mindset!

How were your holidays? Were you able to spend time with family and friends?

Thursday Thoughts: Merry Christmas!

Thursday Thoughts is on Wednesday this week, due to Christmas!

Merry Christmas!! I feel like this Christmas season has really snuck up on me this year.  Last week Wednesday I went back home to KC, and then when I heard the news during the night that Grandpa passed away, I came back to Hays on Thursday, and brought Jasper with me, knowing I would stay through Christmas.

Jasper has made himself quite at home, finding lots of cozy new sleeping places.  He has bee doing really well with Mom and Dad’s cat and dog, Lucy and Shay.  They have had a couple tiffs here and there, but generally they’ve been getting along!

On Saturday, Mom, Kristen, Ava and I went to the mall and did a little shopping, and found these amazing Reindeer antlers.  We bought them for Ava, of course, but we had to play with them too.

Ava, Kristen and I spent some time Saturday afternoon baking banana and pumpkin breads.  Ava helped out too, and we had to pretend we were princesses because we were wearing our aprons.

Mom, Kristen and I have been able to get in a couple runs over the past week.  The weather has been crazy, really nice, then windy, then snowing and blowing, then nice again.  Welcome to Kansas, right?

Sunday night, all of my cousins on the Schumacher side, except for Ava, went to Gellas for a late dinner.  I cannot remember a time, ever in my life, that all of us have done something like this that wasn’t because of a holiday or family event.  Granted, we were gathering for Grandpa’s wake, but we all could have gone our separate ways and eaten with our families, but we ate together.  It was really nice to spend some time with my cousins; thanks Grandpa, for getting us together.

Monday was Grandpa’s funeral.  It was a beautiful service, and I’m thankful Grandpa is finally with Grandma, and not in pain any longer.  Merry Christmas, Grandpa, I love and miss you.
