In an effort to post more regularly, I’m going to try to write an update post weekly, on Thursdays. So, welcome, one and all, to my first “Thursday Thoughts.”
On Monday evening, after the Labor Day 5k that morning with James, we went to the Royals game. My work gave out free tickets for donating blood, which is just an added bonus to saving 3 lives! The Royals beat the Rangers 4-3, and are still in 1st place. I’m not a huge baseball fan, but it really has been fun living in KC this summer with the Royals doing so well.
It was the second Royals game we have gone to this summer, and we will get to see them play one more time in a couple weeks when my parents and Grandpa visit. I also really wanted a huge hot dog, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. Not sure it was $7.75 good, but it sure was tasty.
We ended up leaving right before the game ended, and right before it started raining. It was a fun night, and a great end to a great Labor Day weekend, and I’m glad we are able to go to a few games in the summer time! Go Royals!
Tuesday, I attended my third KCRC Groupies run. KC Running Company just opened up a store just a mile or so from my apartment, and I couldn’t be more excited. Tuesday was the grand opening, and I got a few awesome KCRC shirts, a jacket, and did a group run before having a hot dog! I’m looking forward to taking my mom to the store when she visits in a couple weeks, and I’m very much looking forward to getting to know some of the Groupies, and making new running friends.
After the run, I Facetime’d Mom, and Shay puppy. I miss my puppy.
Jasper has adjusted to city life so well, he loves watching the birds and bugs outside, and gets to go out on the balcony a few times each week. He has been trying to chase and catch the sphinx moths that have been out lately.
Today I drove to Wichita for work, what a boring drive! I’ve never done that drive before, and it certainly wasn’t my favorite! It has been getting darker earlier and earlier. I welcome the cooler temperatures, but am sad to see the summer daylight go. I can’t believe it’s September already, and find it crazy that fall will officially be here in 2 short weeks. With a short holiday week, it feels like this week has flown by.
Are you looking forward to fall and winter, or are you hating to see summer go?
I enjoy reading your posts. love, dad.
Thanks Dad, I enjoy writing them, and knowing you read it. 🙂
